#ClubChat: As a CM, where do you see yourself on the introvert/extrovert spectrum?

Alt Text

It's a pretty common misconception that Community Managers have to be extroverts (some of the best ones we know are quite the opposite).

What do you consider yourself to be? Extrovert, introvert... a bit of both?

I'm an introvert! All the tests so say, and I highly identify with being one. I don't love meeting new people (especially in person or in large groups) and I need to recharge after most social gatherings.

Even though my Meyers Briggs test says I'm an extrovert (hah), I'm an introvert a majority of the time. Even though I enjoy meeting new people (and so much of my job has been meeting new people), it's exhausting and I need that down time to get my energy back.

So interesting! I'm the opposite โ€“ mine says I'm an introvert and I think I'm a little more on the extrovert side.

Definitely, 1000% hardcore introvert. Last time I took a test about it I scored 99/100 on the introvert scale.

I am without a doubt an introvert, and a highly sensitive one. I used to wish to be an extrovert, as I thought it will make my career easier. But I have started to appreciate my personality.

Throughout my career, I wouldn't say I become an extrovert, but at one point I started enjoy people's company and making new connections. :)

Definitely a bit of both! Love networking, but also love recharging and alone time!

I'm an INFJ so I'm naturally introverted but I get quite animated and vocal when it's something I'm passionate about.

You are the extroverted version of me in all its glory. :)

I seem to straddle the line between introvert and extrovert. I never know which side of me will show up to our community events and some days it's so energizing while other days it's completely exhausting.

The world perceives me as a total extrovert, but I think i'm an introverted extrovert. I am both enlivened and depleted by the energy of others

Ambivert :). I'm definitely outgoing and love networking and building relationships, but also need the alone time to recharge afterwards.

I can totally relate to this! Both seem to exhaust and energize me in equal measure.
