Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

I stumbled upon The Community Club whilst looking for community organisations/support groups online ๐Ÿ˜ I'm Community Manager at Virgin Media in the UK. I stumbled into community from the support world and have done all the jobs whilst getting to this point.

My favourite part about community building - getting the change to share opportunities with the community on the back of the engagement/participation in the group. When community works well it enables so many things in my book.

Fun facts - I'm a fluent Welsh speaker; I've been working on writing and recording an album during lockdown

Hey Community Club!
Happy to find such club already cos I'm new to community building but really need it.
Nevertheless, I'm startup advisor and CMO (Marketing Shiva) in Viewst, no-code tool for ads production.
And I came to the point that Viewst needs its community)))
Would love to share all that I know in case of need and to network and study from all of you!

Hey everyone, I'm new here!

I found this group through the Community Club conference this week and excited to learn and get more involved!

I'm working on building a platform to help build communities that scale. At Junto, we're turning audience into community through small, format, live guided video conversations. Looking forward to sharing my experience and learning from all of you!

Looking forward to meeting other Community leaders, both DevRel and not.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hi everyone! I'm Haley (she/they).

๐Ÿ’ป My background is in software engineering and distributed political organizing.

๐Ÿ—ณ My teammate and I are in the process of building a community for Democratic and progressive volunteer donor organizers to move them up the political engagement ladder -- more on that here if you're curious: paper.dropbox.com/doc/The-movement...

๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™€๏ธ I've joined to learn from/grow with others who are building communities of their own.

๐Ÿ’ก My favorite thing about community building is supporting people in their transformations, and (ideally) those transformations provide some greater collective impact to the world around them.

Hi everyone, so excited to find this group! I worked alongside the community team at Salesforce for 7 years as a Developer Evangelist and found that I loved inspiring community members to grow their careers and take on leadership roles in the community. I'm no longer at Salesforce, but I'm still connected to the community members I've met over the years!

Also, once I realized how many groups are underrepresented in tech, I worked to increase representation in the community and make the community more inclusive. I'd love to connect with other folks who are doing inclusion work!

Hey folks -
I run a non-profit community of business leaders (+1500 members) - we do not charge for our services as we strongly feel that everyone should have access to support along the lifecycle of their business (we want to democratize access to knowledge, support and financial aid to SMEs). Most of our members are micro-businesses and early-stage startups.

Member 'benefits' or services are:
๐ŸŽ‰ Slack community
๐Ÿ“ฐ Substack newsletter
๐ŸŽ Weekly events covering networking (casual and 'formal' on Icebreaker), sales forums, coaching circles, masterclasses, holistic health sessions - all events are hosted by us but members provide their services for free also to promote their business (ie lead with value)
๐Ÿ“ฝ Recorded trainings and events on our (unlisted) YouTube channel
๐Ÿคนโ€โ™€๏ธ Focus groups for early-stage startups, Beta user groups for MVP-stage startups and pitching sessions for later stage

We are registered as a non-profit but have not yet secured funding or sponsorship (we provide all of the above for free). Looking forward to learning from you all here and hopefully building this community into a sustainable business model!

Hi everyone! I'm one of the co-founders of Munch, a social app for sharing restaurant reviews with friends instead of strangers. I am currently running community for our product but have little to no experience with it.

โœจHello!โœจ

I think I reached a pivotal moment in my life. Let me explain:
Last month, I was your regular freshly graduated undergrad - stomping around job boards, slurping up "career guru" advice on how to land your first job, madly implementing advice from those "Do this, not that" blogs. By chance someone I really admired in the creative industry was hiring for a CM position, and without much thought (or understanding what exactly a CM is) I applied - and miraculously got an interview. Post interview I went down the rabbit hole trying to figure out how to work the platform mentioned and found Community Club. I'm hooked.

So, hi again๐Ÿ‘‹- I'm Katie an aspiring community manager who is fascinated with how the digital space has transformed the way we gather and how it can be used to amplify the good we can do in this world.

Right now my challenge is learning how to translate my community building skillsets from observing and working with incredible connectors and gatherers in offline settings to the online space and, more importantly, figure out what exactly needs to be done to help people out.

Oh yeah, and finding a job. There's that to!

============
Currently, I'm reading The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker and so far it is a wonderful collection of types of gatherings and how to design those spaces. (recommending as relevant food for thought!)

Jake here - I recently found out about the Community Club while reading Arvid Kahl's new book, "The Embedded Entrepreneur". (Not directly mentioned, but via an interactive chapter)

Super pumped to build relationships with creative and driven folks, and of course add value where I can.
