Hey everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

I stumbled upon The Community Club whilst looking for community organisations/support groups online ๐Ÿ˜ I'm Community Manager at Virgin Media in the UK. I stumbled into community from the support world and have done all the jobs whilst getting to this point.

My favourite part about community building - getting the change to share opportunities with the community on the back of the engagement/participation in the group. When community works well it enables so many things in my book.

Fun facts - I'm a fluent Welsh speaker; I've been working on writing and recording an album during lockdown

Hey folks -
I run a non-profit community of business leaders (+1500 members) - we do not charge for our services as we strongly feel that everyone should have access to support along the lifecycle of their business (we want to democratize access to knowledge, support and financial aid to SMEs). Most of our members are micro-businesses and early-stage startups.

Member 'benefits' or services are:
๐ŸŽ‰ Slack community
๐Ÿ“ฐ Substack newsletter
๐ŸŽ Weekly events covering networking (casual and 'formal' on Icebreaker), sales forums, coaching circles, masterclasses, holistic health sessions - all events are hosted by us but members provide their services for free also to promote their business (ie lead with value)
๐Ÿ“ฝ Recorded trainings and events on our (unlisted) YouTube channel
๐Ÿคนโ€โ™€๏ธ Focus groups for early-stage startups, Beta user groups for MVP-stage startups and pitching sessions for later stage

We are registered as a non-profit but have not yet secured funding or sponsorship (we provide all of the above for free). Looking forward to learning from you all here and hopefully building this community into a sustainable business model!

โœจHello!โœจ

I think I reached a pivotal moment in my life. Let me explain:
Last month, I was your regular freshly graduated undergrad - stomping around job boards, slurping up "career guru" advice on how to land your first job, madly implementing advice from those "Do this, not that" blogs. By chance someone I really admired in the creative industry was hiring for a CM position, and without much thought (or understanding what exactly a CM is) I applied - and miraculously got an interview. Post interview I went down the rabbit hole trying to figure out how to work the platform mentioned and found Community Club. I'm hooked.

So, hi again๐Ÿ‘‹- I'm Katie an aspiring community manager who is fascinated with how the digital space has transformed the way we gather and how it can be used to amplify the good we can do in this world.

Right now my challenge is learning how to translate my community building skillsets from observing and working with incredible connectors and gatherers in offline settings to the online space and, more importantly, figure out what exactly needs to be done to help people out.

Oh yeah, and finding a job. There's that to!

============
Currently, I'm reading The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker and so far it is a wonderful collection of types of gatherings and how to design those spaces. (recommending as relevant food for thought!)

Hi all!

I am thrilled because today I received the green light from my bosses to go ahead and make a Slack community to rally like-minded professionals around our mission to empower product teams to be outcome-driven.

I'm tasked with ramping up this community asap, so I'm excited to join the Community Club to learn as much as I can.

I'm based in San Diego, CA, but spent the majority of the last 4 years traveling while working remotely... I know a lot about how to do that, and have had the pleasure of joining an amazing digital nomad community, Wifi Tribe. If anyone wants to know more about it, I'm happy to discuss!

Well, this is embarrassing! I did not realize this community existed. I see a lot of familiar faces around here. Hello, I'm Todd Nilson and I run a community strategy consultancy called Clocktower Advisors which you can visit here: clocktoweradvisors.com/

I'm based in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, on the very eastern tip of the state reaching out into Lake Michigan and I have a deep and abiding love of online communities, tabletop gaming, entrepreneurship, and walking on the beach!

Hi everyone, I am Eugenia from down under ๐Ÿ˜, great to be a part of the Community Club with fellow community lovers! โค๏ธ

I came across this space when I was doing research for my startup, Inspiring Chats, as we build customised solutions for communities to empower 1-1 member connections. ๐Ÿ™Œ inspiringchats.com/

As a marketing and business development professional, and soon to join the university space (RMIT) as a Community Coordinator to lead entrepreneurship programs ๐Ÿค—, I have come across many people who are members of large online communities with thousands of members, but don't really feel a sense of connection and belonging - This promped me to develop a solution to help people get to know each other within communities.

I look forward to learning from you all, sharing updates, and hearing from you if you are happy to share your insights/experiences/feedback ๐Ÿค Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn linkedin.com/in/eugenia-yuan/ or shoot me an email at eugenia.yuan@inspiringchats.com ๐ŸŽˆ

All the best!

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hi everyone! I'm the Head of Community at Comet, an enterprise SaaS offering in the ML space (and more specifically in the MLOps space). Overall, I've been involved in building developer communities for the last four years (previously with another ML focused startup, Fritz AI).

Have long been an admirer of Commsor and this community -- haven't checked in recently, but redoubling my efforts to get involved, share what I'm learning, lend a helping hand where I can, etc. Really cool to see how this community has evolved over the last few months, and excited to be jumping back in

Hi all! I am Inky and I work on the community team of the Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Alliance. My background is in Sustainability Science, and I am based in The Netherlands. However, our organisation is remote/EU. Our aim is to build a strong community and reach the goals on our Roadmap (sdialliance.org/roadmap) towards Sustainable Digital Infrastructure together!

My partner found and showed me this group today, and I decided to join straight away! As we are a young organisation, I am very keen to be inspired by other community managers, while also participating in interesting discussions and learning more about how to improve the experience of the people in our community.

Hi Community Club, I'm new to community building and never really knew I needed it until I stumbled across community club. I'm here to learn more and grow.

I am a curious and creative supply chain professional who is working on building a community connecting SMEs and experiential vendors who were impacted by the pandemic, with people like you and me. Along with, meeting new people with mutual social interests.

What I aim to achieve through community building is getting to be a part of someone's growth curve by supporting them in ways known and unknown.

Hi folks! I just started my first community manager role at a nonprofit called Transcend Education (transcendeducation.org/) - we work to support educators in creating more equitable and innovative learning environments for kids in K-12 across the US.

I am managing a virtual community of folks that has experienced tremendous growth in membership over the last year and now we are grappling with some of the growing pains therein and I will be working to customize experiences to our different user types to ensure that folks are seen, supported, and get what they are most seeking from their experience in our spaces. I also want to play around as we continue to expand with subgroups, regional meetups, and all kinds of goodies in that realm so that even while we scale - we maintain ample opportunities for deep relationship building and small community feel.

Excited to learn from you and grapple together with some of these questions!

Hey everyone!
I'm Janine from Northumberland, UK. I specialise in knowledge management and community building is definitely a massive part of that! I am the founder of Knovolution and I help my clients will all sorts of areas of knowledge management, also their community strategies and implementation. I am also building my own membership site for Knovolution.
I've worked for 13 years in the oil and gas sector and mostly developed internal communities of practice. I love comparing and contrasting the approaches to internal/external community building.
When I am not starting 'knovolutions', I go adventuring with my two Patterdale terriers and play guitar in a couple of heavy metal bands \m/

Hey there! I'm new here too. I just found this forum through going down a rabbit hole on Twitter. So happy to be here!

I work for a company that is all about building community. I am a recent hire at 4.5 months in, but I love Circl.es so much for the growth it's initiated in me.

I am part of the Operations Team at Circl.es but I am more focused on UXR, previous to my role in a tech start up, I was an academic. I studied politics, environmental economics, and human rights. I am hyper-focused on building authentic relationships with the consumers we work with every day! :D

Let's talk!

Hi everyone,
I am a young multipotentialite who works for an ambitious start-up, FlowOS.
We are a crazy and very young start-up team who has the courage to challenge big forces like Zoom, Meets & other online platforms for meetings.

At the beginning of the pandemic, we realised that with the current tech stack, itโ€™s super complicated to facilitate complex and enriching training experiences.ย

So weโ€™ve built sessions.us, an end-to-end platform for meticulously organised, highly engaging experiences where participants have instant access to all necessary built-in tools and resources.ย

Our sole objective is to capture feedback from relevant professions & fine-tune the platform to bring the most significant possible added value. We believe in organic growth and want to learn what it really takes to grow and scale up.
