We're hosting the ultimate virtual event for community builders!
Community Chat Weekly is a newsletter about building and growing communities, featuring collected tweets, posts and thoughts from various community managers.
We take a break from our regular scheduled programming to announce the 2020 Virtual Community Chat Summit, a truly digital event about all things community building!
The virtual summit is a gathering of community builders helping each other navigate the world of community building by sharing resources, strategies, and best practices. No need to spend $1,000s on travel or take time off, just bring your desire to learn and network with other community builders
📅When - June 3rd & 4th
🌍Where - Online, attend from anywhere!
❓ Why - to connect, learn, and grow as community builders
This isn't going to be your typical 'webinar' style event - we're emulating much of what you'd get at a full-scale in-person event, including:
🔥Fireside chats, panels and Q&A sessions
📚Breakout sessions and workshops
👋1:1 video networking
🎉and an after party!
The event will feature a wide array of community content – whether you are an indie community hobbyist, B2B community manager, developer relations manager, VC platform manager, or a founder or marketer that is brand new to the world of community, there will be something for you!
We've got an incredible set of speakers already lined up to share their community building knowledge with you, and it is growing by the day. More content and a full schedule will be revealed in the coming weeks!

A handful of recommended readings from the past week.
A sense of Belonging – 3 part series (14 minute read)
A three part series on 'product-led communities' by Spero Ventures, an investor that has been thinking about community for a long time (and has released this long read to prove it!) What is their key insight about product-led communities? They orient people around a product or service that helps people achieve a valuable future outcome, and also foster authentic connection and the pursuit of shared goals, which can be valuable to companies, as well as society.
Community Capitalism (21 min read)
This is another long one, but well worth the read if you find the time this weekend! To quote the article: "'Community Capitalism' argues that firms should not focus solely on their customers, but also on communities—so that all members of the community succeed—and all stakeholders benefit, over time."
