📆 The Micro State of Community
As many of you know, we (relatively) recently hosted the Virtual Community Chat Summit! During the summit, we presented attendees with various polls and questions about community building.
While the breadth of answers are far from enough to create a full 'report', they do provide some interesting insight into the community industry! While the number of responses per poll varies, each received roughly 250 responses.
Hobbyist vs professional community builders
This initial question gives good framing for the audience that attended the summit, but shouldn't be surprising as we'd intentionally targeted community professionals.
Years of community experience
It's incredible to see how almost evenly split the answers are here.
Was community an intentional choice?
Perhaps a future issue of CCW should dive into the paths that community managers have taken to end up working in community. The vast majority didn't intend to work in community.
How many communities are you active in at least once per week?
How big is your community team?
Do you have a super user program?
And of course, the most important question of all. 🐈 Cats or 🐕 dogs?
