  • Operations: Process, Data, Experience Design, Project Management
  • Events: Focus on Meetups, user groups, Community Conferences, Webinar Programs, etc
  • Content: Focus on UGC, Comms, and Content Programming & Production
  • Ideation/Product: Focus on VoC (Voice of Customer) efforts in the Community, funneling and advocating for feedback cross-functionally
  • Engagement: Focus on strategic programs to drive community engagement. Could include managing a SuperUser/Contributor Program

I think it could -- but probably depends on the company and org structure. But definitely similar functions, in my opinion!
